Native Plant Walk

Where: Stimpson Family Nature Reserve

When: April 20th at 3-5pm

2076 Lake Louise Rd, Bellingham, WA

Come join me as we take a spring stroll and learn about the plants that live all around us. We will meet many native plants and talk about identification, history and some traditional and modern uses of the plants. This class is open to all levels of experience. Please leave your dogs at home this time!

Growing Medicinal Herbs

When: May 11th at 12-2 pm

Where: Wild Vitality Herb Farm
Everson, WA

Cost: $25

In this class, we will get our hands dirty and learn some of the foundational skills for growing medicinal plants from seed. We will go over the ins and outs of seeding, germination, planting, and harvesting. Our time together will be focused on a handful of commonly used medicinal herbs. You will walk away from this class with more confidence to grow your own medicinal herbs at home, along with a plant to put in your own garden. No previous experience necessary, all are welcome.

Tincture Making Class

When: August TBD

Where: Wild Vitality Herb Farm
Everson, WA

Cost: $40

In this class, we will go over the art of tincture making with medicinal plants. We will cover the folk method, along with the ratio method, as well as glycerine based tinctures. We will also discuss some basic chemistry of different plant groups and what alcohol percentages they extract best in. You will go home with a deeper understanding of how to make tinctures at home, along with a tincture that you make in class. Some herbal experience is preferred, but not required. Materials included in class cost: alcohol or glycerine, herbs, and jars.

Herbal Care for the Nervous System

When: August 10th, 11am-1pm

Where: Wild Vitality Herb Farm
Everson, WA

In this class, we will review the importance of nervous system care and how it impacts other systems in the body. Students will walk away with a deeper understanding of how certain herbs can support the nervous system. Attendees will be taking home their own tea blend and salve which will be made in class together. We will also interact with the herbs on a somatic level, and give participants an opportunity to share their own wisdom for regulating their nervous systems. This class will serve as both an opportunity to learn and build community. No previous herbal knowledge necessary; all are welcome! Materials are included in the class cost.
