Calendula, also known as Calendula Officinalis, is one of my favorite herbs. It has been used for centuries to help with wounds and skin irritations, such as, cuts, scrapes, chapped or chafed skin, stings, burns, rashes, bruises, and other irritations to the skin. Calendula is also used in creams, baths, salves, ointments, massage oils, tinctures, and teas.
Calendula is also a great internal agent - aiding chronic digestive imbalances, leaky gut syndrome, food intolerance, and internal wounds. Calendula is a lymphagogue, Alterative, Vulnerary/Astringent,Bitter Tonic, Emmenagogue, Inflammation Modulator, and Immue Tonic.
These dried flowers can be used in a tea, facial steam, bath, oil infusion, salve, and whatever else you might create!
Calendula is also an incredible herb to move blood through the lymphs and great for vaginal health. It has been used for bacterial infections, yeast infections, and for the purpose of pleasure!
My herbal pantry never feels quite complete if I don't have some bright orange Calendula in there. Organically grown in my garden (but not certified)
