What is a Doula
"A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible."
Placentophagy is the act of mammals eating their own placenta after giving birth. Nearly all mammals do this after birth. Some benefits that have been concluded on humans with eating the placenta is an increase of mother-to-infant interaction, increase in endurance, immunological and antibiotic effects, increase in the protein and lactose percent of milk, increased growth rate of baby fed mama's milk, increase in milk production, and decrease in post part depression and menopausal symptoms.
